We originated as Winnebago Farmers Mutual Fire Insurance Company in 1874. The policies only covered damage caused by fire. Pecatonica Mutual Fire Insurance Company was formed as a township mutual in 1895. These two Mutuals merged on July 1, 1978 and became Town & Country Mutual County Fire Insurance Company. On November 1, 1988, the name was changed to Town & Country Mutual Insurance Company.
Town & Country Mutual can insure properties in Winnebago, Boone, Ogle, Stephenson, Lee, Jo Davies, Carroll and Dekalb Counties.
We can write Property Insurance for Farms, Homeowners, Rental Dwellings, and Tenant Insurance. Liability Insurance is provided by Grinnell Mutual Reinsurance Company.
